AUSTIN SPERRY
Austin started sailing on the San Francisco Bay in 5.5 metres and El Toros as a child. He soon progressed to the Star Class, competing in high level events such as the Bacardi Cup with his father. An all round athlete, Sperry focused on his studies and other sports while at Whittier College in Los Angeles. Sperry has evolved to become one of the world’s top sailors, sailing with and against the best in the sport.

Coach
Steve is a Washington native. He is an two time Star World Champion, an Olympic Champion and a Whitbread Champion. He has won 7 World Championships and has been involved in 6 America’s Cup Campaigns.

RODNEY HAGEBOLS
Coach
Rodney is an Australia native that started coaching 20 years ago when he was on the national team. Rodney turned coaching into a full-time career 16 years ago and excels in sail trim, racing rules, mental preparation, planning and periodization, boat maintenance and managing equipment.

HANS WALLEN
Coach
A Swedish native, Hans has been sailing since he was five years old and won the IODA World Championships in 1976. He was also a Silver medalist in the Star Class in the 1996 Olympics. Hans has been sailing the Star boat for the last 17 years and has participated in five Olympic campaigns.

Dr. Chris Herrera (DPT, CSCS, CPT) is a leader in the sports training and healthcare field as a certified strength and conditioning specialist, as well as a licensed physical therapist.
